Sometimes, our involvement with a company begins at the very earliest stages of its journey – or in one case, even earlier than that! One biotech client we were introduced to via our network had not even been registered as a company when its founder asked us to help assemble a team to develop an innovative therapy.
We delivered to the brief and within the timeframe. Our deep functional and sector expertise means that we were ideally placed to meet their needs, where a large generalist Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) provider would have been unlikely to provide the same level of strategic consultancy, in-depth sector and functional experience or flexibility when it comes to both permanent and interim roles.
Working in partnership with senior members of the Respiratory Medical Affairs team, Talentmark delivered six hires within 12 weeks for Clinical Science Liaisons in Connecticut, New York, Maryland, Texas, California and Georgia.
Our brief was to find a senior interim with life sciences and pharma experience and strategic medical and clinical insight, who could refresh and revise the direction of the development programme. They would also have responsibility for leading the US team that would deliver it.
With more than 2,500 highly-skilled and engaged employees already at work, acquiring additional talent of this caliber, at the required rate to support the growth strategy, would be daunting. Increasing “brand awareness” with candidates was an additional challenge.
An overarching result was the development of a new, collaborative ‘no silos’ leadership charter with a particular focus on quicker decisions and tangible actions. In addition, a culture/value transformation task force was established alongside a new consistent HR strategy which has meant three new senior hires have been identified.
