 Facilities Engineer

Job Purpose
As a Facilities Engineer, you will ensure that the building, utilities, and grounds are well-maintained, organized, and in compliance with site guidelines and procedures. Additionally, you will manage the procurement and registration of consumables and spare parts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the point of contact for utility systems.
  • Plan and prepare maintenance activities for the building, utilities, and grounds, coordinating with external vendors for specialized areas.
  • Perform minor internal maintenance tasks.
  • Manage facility and utility-related contracts with third parties.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the premises, including pest control and garden maintenance.
  • Oversee access control and security systems.
  • Supervise and coordinate on-site contractors within your scope of work.
  • Handle escalations, resolve facility-related issues, and troubleshoot as necessary.
  • Manage new projects related to facility management, including project coordination.
  • Provide support to the IT department as needed.
  • Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to log all relevant maintenance work.
  • Manage critical tools, spare parts, and supplies for the entire facility, including production equipment.
  • Develop job plans, define corrective and preventive actions, and manage inspections for areas under your responsibility.
  • Proactively work on energy-saving initiatives and environmentally sustainable improvements.
  • Draft new procedures and work instructions related to your scope of work.
  • Revise existing procedures as part of facility-related projects.
  • Assist in initiating purchase orders and recording incoming supplies in the CMMS.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Safe, timely, and accurate execution of all maintenance activities.
  • Buildings and grounds remain clean, well-organized, and functional.
  • Implementation of energy-saving and sustainability measures.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong focus on safety and the ability to follow protocols and standards in a structured manner.
  • In-depth knowledge of facility management, maintenance engineering, and maintenance strategies.
  • Experience as a key user of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Attention to detail with the ability to approach processes from both an end-user and engineering perspective.
  • Willingness to work outside regular office hours, including weekends.

Ideal Candidate Profile
Education: Bachelors degree with 2-6 years of experience in maintenance and facility management.
Languages: Fluent in English (verbal and written).
Experience: Preferably 3+ years of experience in a (pharmaceutical) GMP manufacturing environment.
